The Houthis use their religious and political occasions for the purpose of display and material enrichment, and their occasions have turned into a means of blackmail, oppression and humiliation for the Yemenis in their areas of control.  Houthi events do not stop.  As soon as the Houthis finish one occasion, they start another, and as soon as a campaign of looting and collection of citizens' money ends, a new campaign begins, and so on throughout the year.

Recently, the terrorist group concluded its celebrations of the Prophet’s birthday, which it referred to as the largest “resource” for levies, days after the end of their celebrations and military parades marking the fateful “September 21 ”.

The militia allocates billions of riyals for these occasions, while the living conditions have worsened due to the militia’s confiscation of salaries since late 2016, and its refusal to pay the salaries of government employees, both civil and military, in the areas under its authority.  In addition, it dismissed and dismissed thousands of people from their jobs and replaced them with loyalists.

Since its coup against the state in the fall of 2014, Iran's arm in Yemen has celebrated dozens of sectarian and political occasions throughout the year, from "Ashura Day" to "Quds Day", from "Ghadir Day" to "Martyr's Day", and from "Remembrance Day"  The cry” to “the anniversary of the death of Hussein al-Houthi,” and from “statement day” to “steadfastness day,” to other sectarian occasions.

On top of these religious, political, and exhibition events are the Houthis.  Their celebrations commemorate the “Nakba of September 21” and the anniversary of the Prophet’s Birthday. The two occasions are the largest in terms of preparation and mobilization for them, and the largest in terms of the amount of levies and looting of the resources of ministries and revenue-generating institutions.  Commercial companies and merchants, which are levies that extend into the pockets of citizens as well, and even extend to employees whose salaries have been cut for years.  School students, most of whom go to their schools without breakfast, are not spared from it.

These two occasions are considered the most oppressive and humiliating for Yemenis in the areas under the control of the Iranian arm, which the Houthi militia turned into two annual occasions for looting and looting and imposing illegal royalties, to reap billions of riyals behind them to support its wars to kill Yemenis, and to double the assets and wealth of the Houthi family and its militia leaders.

The sectarian militia began dividing the revenues of the Prophet's birthday, which financial sources estimated this year at 50 billion riyals, which were looted and collected from citizens, merchants, commercial companies, and revenue-generating government institutions, and distributed to members of the Houthi family and the leaders loyal to it.

Observers see that it is no wonder that the youngest member of the coup family, "Sawsan Muhammad Ali al-Houthi", gets 150 million riyals, "her share of the revenues suitable for the birth of her grandfather the Prophet" according to the instructions of the leader of the terrorist militia Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, and one can imagine how much the share of adults in the Houthi family is from  These revenues, and how much is the share of their militia leaders, at a time when the terrorist militia refuses to pay salaries, and continues to humiliate the employees under its authority.

The Houthis looted billions of riyals and millions of dollars from state resources and from the money of traders and citizens. Last September, the militia collected for its military parades, which it carried out on the anniversary of its coup against the state, from the revenues of government agencies and institutions only, according to financial sources, more than 38 billion riyals.  It was looted from the Central Bank, the Hodeidah branch, from the port’s revenues, from the tax and customs resources of the Ministry of Finance, from the Yemen Mobile Company, and from the revenues of zakat, endowments and postal services.

This is in addition to the 5 million and 200 thousand dollars looted by the terrorist militia for its military parades in Hodeidah and Sana’a, from the Red Sea Ports Corporation and the General Aviation Authority, this is in contrast to what was looted and collected from private companies, merchants and shop owners.

The Iranian arm in Yemen exploits many government institutions and bodies to finance its political and sectarian activities, most notably: the port of Hodeidah, the oil company, the Kamran company, the gas company, in addition to telecommunications companies and other institutions.

Since its coup against the state, the Houthi militia has turned its sectarian and political events in its areas of control into a nightmare that haunts the lives of citizens, most of whom live in miserable and deteriorating living and economic conditions, as a result of the militia's exploitation and the imposition of illegal royalties, which they are forced to pay by force.  It negatively affected their lives and exacerbated their daily suffering.
