Aden, NewsYemen:

A member of the Presidency of the Transitional Council, Salem Thabet Al-Awlaki, confirmed that concessions and soft rhetoric for the truce will not achieve peace in Yemen, stressing that Al-Houthi only understands the language of force.

Al-Awlaki said in a series of tweets, that Al-Houthi relies on the strategy of gradual nibbling of the regions, by playing on the time factor, and also relies on the exception strategy to achieve political and economic gains, so the exception after several months turns into a merit."

Al-Awlaki added that with this strategy, Al-Houthi strips legitimacy from its sovereign decisions in his favour, because of the concessions made to it.

He pointed out that Al-Houthi had obtained concessions in the Stockholm Agreement, and other concessions for the sake of the armistice, stressing that he did not commit to implementing one of them, and turned it into field, political and economic gains.

He explained that Al-Houthi is working today to win new concessions under the banner of "achieving peace", and whoever believes that is more important and surrenders his neck, land and future to the Houthis.

Al-Awlaki said that soft rhetoric and concessions will not establish a truce and will not achieve peace, but rather empower Al-Houthi, stressing that Al-Houthi only understands the language of force, as happened in the Bayhan districts.

Al-Awlaki concluded that working to direct new defeats to Al-Houthi is more beneficial than making concessions, as the first will make an honorable peace and the second will make a humiliating and empowering peace for Al-Houthi.
