Ataq, NewsYemen, Special:

Ground defenses in the city of Ataq, the center of Shabwa governorate, southeast of Yemen, managed to shoot down a drone belonging to the Houthi militia - Iran's arm in Yemen - while it was flying over the city.

A source told NewsYemen that the air defenses of the Shabwa Defense Forces confronted a hostile drone belonging to the Houthi militia while it was flying near Ataq International Airport, where the second brigade of Shabwa Defense is stationed, explaining that the plane was on its way to target a vital facility, and it was dealt with and shot down without causing any human or material losses.

The source said that this is the second direct threat towards Shabwa governorate by Houthi drones since the end of the UN truce on the second of October, after the attack that targeted the Al-Nashima oil port a few days ago without causing any losses.

He added that the southern forces in the city of Ataq and the vicinity of all vital and economic facilities had raised their combat readiness in order to deal with any potential threats launched by the Houthi militias after the terrorist attack on the al-Nashima oil port on the coasts of the Radhum district on the Arabian Sea a few days ago, explaining that the vigilance of the southern forces was able to monitor and shoot down the plane before it reaches its criminal target.
