Lahj, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

QThe leadership of the local authority in the Tur Al-Baha district in the Balhaj governorate denied its participation in or its connection to the security and military campaign launched by the so-called "Tur Al-Baha axis" against what it called "intermittent gangs" and "outlaws" in the Maabaq area, which is administratively affiliated to the Al-Maqatrah district.

Since last Thursday, the Axis forces, led by the Brotherhood's Brigadier General Abu Bakr al-Jabouli, have launched a military campaign in the region against the al-Humaida tribe, one of the al-Sabiha tribes, after members of the tribe thwarted an attempt to smuggle weapons and ammunition on board a fuel truck to areas controlled by the Houthi militia.

According to local sources, the villages of "Maabaq" were subjected to heavy bombardment by the Al-Jabouli forces, under the justification of pursuing the gangs of intermittent and outlaws, while the sources confirm that the campaign came in retaliation against the Al-Hamidah tribe for seizing the shipment of weapons and ammunition earlier this month, which the leadership of the Taiz axis recognized as being  affiliated with it.

This was confirmed by the statement issued by the local authority in Tur Al-Baha, where it indicated that the Director General of the Directorate, Brigadier General Bassam Al-Harraq, had received orders from the head of the security committee in the governorate "to stop the clashes between the Tur Al-Baha axis and the Al-Humaida tribe, but he was prevented from entering the area of the clashes from  before the tracking points of the axis.

According to the sources, the attempts of al-Jabouli and the leadership of the Taiz axis to recover the shipment and the truck failed after members of the al-Humaida tribe handed it over to the security director of Lahj, Major General / Saleh al-Sayed, which angered al-Jabouli and prompted his forces to attack the villages of Maabaq.

The sources referred to the violent attacks launched by the Houthi militia against the southern forces in Lahj governorate, in conjunction with the attack by the Al-Jabouli forces on the villages of Maabaq, where about 15 casualties occurred, including military and civilian casualties, as a result of the Houthi militia targeting a military patrol of the southern forces with a thermal missile in the Qadash area of the Directorate.  Al-Qabaitah in Lahj Governorate.

This attack was followed by the death of a member of the Fourth Brigade, Hazm, and the serious injury of another, in military confrontations between the forces of the brigade of the Transitional Council and the Houthi militia on the Haifan front, south of Taiz.

The sources said that the Houthi attack on the sites of the Fourth Brigade, Hazm, came after "Brotherhood" accusations that members of the al-Humaida tribe, who thwarted the smuggling operation, were members of the brigade.  between the Houthis and the Muslim Brotherhood.
