The Houthi militia besieges citizens in Sana'a and the neighboring governorates with a unilateral media discourse, in light of the continued absence of the legitimate authorities and their division among them, the group's seizure of devices and the media, the restriction of freedoms, and the pursuit and silencing of voices opposed to the group.

During the year 2022, the media of the Iranian arm in Yemen, and the looted official media, broadcast about 70 speeches and lengthy lectures by the leader of the group, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, at separate times and occasions.

Among these statistics are 30 speeches on occasions of doctrinal and sectarian dimensions, and 29 Ramadan lectures, in addition to 12 consecutive lessons from what the group promotes under the name of the lessons of the era of Malik al-Ashtar.

Through the television screens, Al-Houthi appeared speaking in meetings with the leaders and notables of the tribes of a number of governorates, and at the inauguration of the summer courses, and during military parades held in 2022, in addition to the so-called endowment conference, the collective wedding, and the launch of the local development program and joint work between state agencies and components of society, according to their expression.

These speeches were broadcast on official and private radio, satellite and private channels, and were rebroadcast through loudspeakers in mosques, market entrances, public squares, and on mobile cars on several occasions.

Among these occasions are Quds Day, Ashura Day, State Day, the Prophet’s birthday, Friday Rajab, the anniversary of the cry, and the speeches included incitement to violence and hatred, and mobilization to fight, ignoring the exacerbation of the suffering of citizens, the deterioration of living conditions, the rise in prices of oil derivatives, foodstuffs, education fees, health, electricity and all services.
