Sana'a, NewsYemen, exclusive:

On the Qatari Al-Jazeera channel, the prominent leader of the Houthi militia, Muhammad al-Bukhaiti, appears permanently in interviews and interventions to promote what he called the general amnesty announced by the leader of the Houthi militia, Iran's arm, Abdulmalik al-Houthi, for their opponents fleeing Sana'a and their areas of control.

Al-Bukhaiti also appeared during the previous period, by publishing pictures of his reception of people whom the Houthi militia said in their media that they were "returning to the bosom of the homeland."  They were photographed in Al-Sabeen Square and some areas in Sana'a in order to promote calls for general amnesty, and to try to attract and return many opponents and opponents of their project who fled from their areas of control and declared their support for the legitimate government.

And in August 2022, the Houthi leader appointed to the position of Deputy Foreign Minister, Hassan Al-Ezzi, published the general amnesty conditions they set for those who wanted to return to Sanaa.  He said at the time that there are instructions for those wishing to take advantage of the general amnesty opportunity issued by their master, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi.

The Houthis' conditions included what they called an apology to the Yemeni people, respect for their glorious sacrifices, glorification of the values of freedom, independence, sovereignty, security, stability, unity and integrity of the Yemeni land, complete abstinence from corruption, and ending all forms of relationship with al-Qaeda, ISIS, Israel and all dark entities.

During the past months, many of those whom the Houthi militia managed to lure through the general amnesty were kidnapped and brought to trial, after they were forced to sign written confessions of joining the government forces and working for them or for the coalition, as well as signing pledges not to repeat this and not to leave their areas of control without prior permission.

The brother of one of the returnees to Amanat Al-Asimah says: Our family was subjected to a lot of harassment by one of the Houthi supervisors in the Maeen district, and he informed us that my older brother was involved in the ranks of Al-Qaeda and ISIS and once in aggression and other lies, and we demanded the necessity of his return and taking advantage of the general amnesty announced by his master.

He added: My brother is not with ISIS or Al-Qaeda, but rather he is a soldier who was in one of the Marib camps before the outbreak of the Houthi war in 2015. He could not return to us or his family. My mother told him to return after seducing her and giving guarantees from the Houthi supervisor in the area that he would be safe and not be harmed.  In the event that he returned to Sanaa and gave up his position in Marib.

He pointed out that his brother, after the urging and crying of my mother, his wife, and his children, decided to return to Sana'a, and he was received by the Houthi supervisors and photographed in the lists that appeared in Al-Sabeen Square that they were returning to the bosom of the homeland.  But my brother, after the photo, did not return home. He was arrested and forced to sign many confessions and pledges, not to leave Sana'a and return to Ma'rib, and even not to receive his salary from Ma'rib.

The reality of the general amnesty calls promoted by the Houthi leaders is nothing but a ploy to lure their opponents and laugh at the chins.  This was revealed by the Houthi leader and tribal sheikh in Dhamar Governorate, Muhammad Hussein al-Maqdashi.

The Houthi leader, who was appointed as an advisor to the Houthis' political council, made statements in which he outlined the reality of the general amnesty that is being promoted by the leaders in his group, warning at the same time of the consequences of ratifying this call and the return, which is an obvious luring process.

Al-Maqdishi, the leader, published on his account on social media, a post titled, "Innocence of responsibility, I advise the fugitives not to return, do not believe the general amnesty."

He added, "How can we make our promises to the fugitives, while we have people who have been imprisoned (prisoners of the militia) for a year or two, because of a post or a call?"

And the Houthi leader continued: If this is the case in the group's control areas, "and some are still asking for them to be imprisoned, how will we allow those who fought?"

And he added, "The leader of the revolution speaks in a valley, and those concerned are in a second valley. Shame on you for laughing at the chins."
