Hodeidah, NewsYemen, exclusive:

The local authority and the joint forces removed the combat fortifications that had been introduced by the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, in the Hays district of Al-Hodeidah Governorate, in the west of the country, and disrupted the movement of citizens and goods.

Local sources told "NewsYemen" that the removal of the military fortifications that the Houthi militia had previously set up at a distance of 2 km in the villages of Hays countryside, located on the main line leading to Ibb Governorate, allowed freedom of movement and facilitated traffic for citizens in the recently liberated areas in south of Hodeidah.

The people of Hays countryside expressed their happiness at the removal of these fortifications and earthen barriers, after they had restricted their movement and prevented them from moving.

Local residents indicated that the Houthi militia had dismembered the villages of Hays countryside, and forced the people to travel long distances through rugged roads and mines, to reach areas that normally take no more than 15 minutes to reach.

The director of the Hays Directorate, Mutahar Al-Qadi, said: "We have removed all the earthen fortifications and combat barricades that were developed by the Houthi militia, the former arm of Iran, and which extend from Al-Udayn Junction to the villages of Owais and Al-Hait, northeast of the district."

He added that the militias made these fortifications a line of defense and protection for their fighters.

Al-Qadi praised the role of the member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Brigadier General Tariq Muhammad Abdullah Saleh, who supports this humanitarian work, in facilitating traffic and removing all fortifications developed by the Houthi militia, which constituted a major obstacle to civilians and their movement.

Through these fortifications, the Houthi militia imposed a tight siege on the people of Hays and prevented them from moving from one village to another during the period of its control over the district's countryside, but the suffering of the residents ended after its liberation by the joint forces on the western coast.
