Al-Alimi receives Grundberg in Aden and demands a tough stance against the Houthis

 On Tuesday, the Presidential Leadership Council renewed its commitment and the government's commitment to a just and comprehensive peace approach, and support for regional and international efforts to push the Houthi militias to deal with efforts to launch a comprehensive political process led by the United Nations, in a manner that meets the aspirations of all Yemenis to restore the state and achieve security and stability.

This came during the reception of the President of the Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, and with him the member of the Council, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami, in the Ma’ashiq Palace in the capital, Aden, the United Nations Special Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, and his assistant, Maeen Shreem, to discuss the developments of the Yemeni file and the international efforts to revive the peace path in the country.

Al-Alimi stressed the keenness of the "Yemeni Presidency" to provide all facilities to the UN envoy in order to fulfill his mandate covered by UN Security Council resolutions and statements, especially Resolution 2216 in his endeavor to achieve the main goals of the United Nations related to maintaining international peace and security.

He warned of the repercussions of the Houthi terrorist militias' actions against the private sector, the activities of the chambers of commerce, and the freedom of movement of individuals and goods between the governorates, and what this requires of strict international positions to reduce the human suffering that these militias seek to exacerbate with the support of the Iranian regime and its subversive project in the region.
