Al-Jawf Governorate.. An open arena for Houthi violations

After abandoning the umbrella of the internationally recognized legitimate government, and abandoning the national battle to restore the state from the grip of the Houthi rebels, Iran's arm in Yemen, making Al-Jawf Governorate and its tribes paying a heavy bill for replacing the national project with the tools of Iran and the rebel militia.
As part of its strategy to strike and humiliate the tribes, the Houthi group's violations against civilians and tribes in Al-Jawf governorate continue on an ongoing basis, as it confiscates their property and lands in the various directorates of the governorate, by conducting military campaigns from time to time.
Exorbitant bill
At a time when Iran bought the loyalties of the Al-Jawf tribes to turn against the national battle to hand over their province and their villages to it, it provided them with many guarantees, but the guarantees of safety and the various forms of privileges promised to the tribes quickly vanished, turning the province into an open arena for the group’s militants, practicing Including the types of violations against the tribes.
The Houthi violations against the Al-Jawf tribes have extended to their homes and villages, as they have recently forcibly displaced people in the Al-Marashi district, forcing them to leave their homes and flee to the desert after threatening them with shelling and direct targeting.
Earlier, Al-Jawf Governorate witnessed massive displacement operations that included a number of villages and tribes, most notably the Dhu Zayd tribes in the districts of Al-Marashi and Bart Al-Anan, in addition to the residential areas in the areas overlooking the agricultural valley of Madhab.
The semi-annual report for human rights 2023, issued by the Committee on Rights and Information in Al-Jawf Governorate, indicated that the Houthi group has committed thousands of crimes against human rights in the governorate since it seized it in March 2020, killing and liquidating civilians at various security points affiliated with Iran.
The report stated that the militia killed the citizen Ali bin Hadi Hussein and injured his wife, in addition to the injury of the child, Majid Masoud Hadi, while they were passing through the Bart Malfaj area in the Bart Al-Marashi district.
While the young Adnan Naji Al-Shayef (18 years old) was killed on April 23, 2023, by armed elements affiliated with Iran, while he was passing through one of their points in the Bart Al-Marashi district.
The report indicated that the group, on March 29, killed and liquidated the young citizen, Muhammad Abdullah Saqra, at a point belonging to it in Wadi Surra.
On March 29, the group kidnapped the child Khaled Adel Mohsen Al-Mayo - and Abdul-Jalil Muhammad Hizam - and Fahd Muhammad Al-Yarimi and hid them for a week, during which they were subjected to various forms of psychological and physical torture.
According to the report, the total number of violations committed by Iran's arm in Al-Jawf Governorate during the period from January 1 to June 30 of this year amounted to (5945) cases of violations, distributed between cases of killing and direct injuries, displacement and confiscation of lands and property of citizens.
deliberate humiliation
At a time when the Houthi group is practicing various forms of violations against the people of Al-Jawf Governorate, observers believe that the survival of Iran's arm depends on the extent of its ability to put pressure on Yemeni tribes and societies in various governorates, as the group deliberately abuses and weakens them and robs them of their ability to resist.
Since its first attempts to control Al-Jawf Governorate, the militia has focused on implicating the tribes with crimes against their families and their people, and has drawn them into its war against the government army, against which the tribes turned so that Iran's arm could tighten its grip on the governorate.
In a related context, journalist Muhammad al-Mayas believes that the Houthi group used the tribes of Al-Jawf in its war against the governorate, then implicated them in its violations against the people and civilians and struck them with each other to ensure that they are separated and weak from resisting its violations.
Al-Mayass said, in the context of his interview with "Newsyemen": "What the group's militants are practicing today in Al-Jawf Governorate is an extension of the racist and dynasty discourse strategy that the Houthi movement believes in and is based on."
He added, "This discourse, which is based on the principle of divide and rule, is the natural reflection of the Imamate policy that has been applied to the necks of Yemenis for centuries, and its heirs to its descendants coming from Saada and the caves of Maran."
He continued, "Al-Jawf and other Yemeni governorates under the authority of the Houthis are subject to the same violations and practices, and the evidence for this is many and varied, from Sana'a to Amran to Dhamar, and every inch is subject to the militia's authority."
He pointed out that "the Houthi group cannot feel safe if the Yemeni tribe continues to be coherent, especially since the tribe has represented the main factor in shaping the political discourse of the Yemeni state since after the September 26 revolution, and one of the most important influences on the front politics before the republic."
He pointed out that "the Houthi nature is repulsive and incapable of coexistence, and thus it seeks to swallow everything that could threaten its influence or disturb its security in general, and the tribes are one of the most important of these threats ... but, unfortunately, the Houthis succeeded in implicating the tribes of Al-Jawf and turning the governorate into an open arena for their criminals."
