Ibn Mubarak meets with the head of the UNMHA mission

 The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak, met in the capital, Aden, today, with the Chairman of the Redeployment Coordination Committee in Hodeidah Governorate (UNMHA), Major General Michael Perry, a day after the government directed sharp criticism of the mission’s activity.

The government agency Saba said that the meeting discussed the mission’s activity and issues related to its tasks, and touched on the repeated violations by the Houthis in Hodeidah Governorate and its military reinforcements towards the governorate, and its repeated announcement of conducting missile tests in the Red Sea from the ports of Hodeidah, Saleef and Ras Issa, as well as the increasing number of victims of mines that  It was planted on farms and residential neighborhoods, harming civilians, especially in the Maqbanah area in Taiz Governorate.

 Bin Mubarak renewed his demand that the United Nations move the headquarters of its mission to support the Hodeidah Agreement (UNMHA) to the liberated areas, or a neutral area, and not leave it hostage to the pressure and blackmail of the Houthi militia.

 The Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the need for the mission to carry out its basic tasks in accordance with international resolutions and to oblige these militias to implement their obligations in accordance with the Stockholm Agreement, expressing the government’s readiness to overcome all the difficulties it faces.

 For his part, the UN official expressed his appreciation for the government’s cooperation, stressing the mission’s keenness to deal positively with all of the government’s observations.

 The Minister of Information in the legitimate government, Muammar Al-Eryani, said on Friday that the United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeidah Agreement (UNMHA), with its current performance, has abandoned its role and has become merely a cover for the terrorist Houthi militia to violate the Stockholm Agreement and the crimes it is committing against civilians in the liberated areas of Hodeidah Governorate, from  Bombardment with various types of weapons, planting mines and explosive devices, continuing to dismember the governorate, and plundering its resources.
