Houthis kidnap hundreds of civilians in al-Baida Militias convert Community College into jail

The Houthi militias transformed a university building in al-Baida province into a prison for abuses and torture against dozens of civilians who were abducted during a campaign of arrests.

A local source told Newsyemen that Houthi militias transformed the Community College building in al-Baida city into a detention center for civilians who were abducted from al-Dhaheki, al-Meshdal areas, and neighboring areas.

The source quoted relatives of detainees as saying that the Houthi militias conducts psychological and physical torture against dozens of civilians in halls and facilities of the college, in interrogation sessions that do not stop day and night.

The source added that the residents were prevented to visit their detainees' relatives, as well as prevented to give them blankets and food.

The source pointed out that the Houthi militias launched arrests campaign and arrested eight civilians on Monday on a military vehicle to the building.

Five days ago, the Houthi militias launched a large-scale of kidnappings, and arrested more than 100 civilians in the area of al-Meshdal area in the province.
