The Crescent reached one million citizens in 121 villages

The programs of the UAE Red Crescent Relief Authority have spread to various areas of the West Coast, including sectors of health, water, education and medical and therapeutic supplies.

The number of food baskets provided to the people of the West Coast reached more than 140,000, benefiting more than 1 million people in 121 villages and districts across the cities and villages of the West Coast from 20 June 2018 to 30 January.

The move came aiming to contribute the direct alleviation and enhance the people conditions.

HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a Chairman of the UAE Red Crescent Authority ordered to promote the Red Crescent initiatives in the Yemeni arena and intensify relief operations and development projects for those affected in the needy areas.

In a telephone conversation with Yemen's Humanitarian Operations Director Saeed Ali Al Kaabi, al-Nahyan stressed the importance of the humanitarian situation in Yemen by adopting humanitarian development initiatives that make a difference in the level of necessary services needed by citizens to alleviate human suffering and improve the current situation
