The United Nations and the World Food Program (WFP) have accused the Houthi rebels, Iran's arm in Yemen, of preventing the delivery of food aid at the expense of children and women.

At the session of the UN Security Council on Monday, the WFP Executive Director  said  20 million people in Yemen need for assistance.

David Paisley warned the UN Security Council on Monday that food aid could be suspended in Yemen this week gradually due to transferring aid for non-earmarked purposes and the lack of independence work in the Houthis-controlled areas.

In his briefing before the Security Council, Paisley said the program had the funds to help the Yemenis, but the Houthis impede its investment.

He added the Houthis manipulate the WFP aid at the expense of children, women, and men who are in need them most.
