Security Council to discuss developments in Yemen and the results of the Jeddah dialogue tomorrow Thursday

The UN Security Council will hold a public consultation session on Thursday to discuss the political, military and humanitarian developments in Yemen.

Security Council members will be listening to a briefing by UN Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffith on the results of his visits to Riyadh, Sana'a and Muscat and his meetings with officials of the Yemeni government and the leadership of the Houthi group, as well as talks with Saudi and Omani officials in order to achieve a truce for military actions and the implementation of the Stockholm Agreement, especially the Hodeidah agreements and the exchange of prisoners and detainees, explaining that the briefing will present the results of efforts by Griffiths to seek to resume political consultations between legitimacy and Houthis stalled since the Sweden consultations in the middle  
Of December 2018.

The sources said that the UN briefing will discuss the results of the Jeddah dialogue between the legitimacy and the Saudi-sponsored Southern Transitional Council amid strong expectations that an agreement will be signed on the results of the dialogue on Thursday.
The sources pointed out that the Security Council will be listening during the meeting to an assessment report on the humanitarian situation in Yemen by the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs - Emergency Relief Coordinator Mark Lokoc
