The Houthi militias have returned the communications and Internet service to al-Hodeida province and the West Coast after long months out of cutting the service.

Local residents reported that the Internet service returned to al-Hodeida and parts of Yemen's west coast, after the Houthi militia had cut off the service in the main center in the Capital Sana'a.

The Houthi militias cut off the communications and the Internet completely from al-Hodeida in September 2018, as fighting intensified around  al-Hodeida city.

The militia deliberately cut off Internet and the communications services, blocking the events' reality inside the city and preventing the transfer of abuses by its elements against the civilian population.
