A Women bloc objected on Saturday to marginalize and exclude the Southern Women in the participation of the Yemeni Women Conference “Mediators for Peace”, held currently in Jordan, organized by the United Nations.

The "Southern Women's Team for an Independent State" presented a protest letter, signed by 100 women activists to the Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths, and Head of Office for UN Women in Yemen Dina Zorba for marginalization of the southern women.

The letter said: "We wonder, but we are surprised by the repeated marginalization and exclusion of the Southern women with an orientation demanding the independence of the South."

They stressed to involve their activities at international organizations of the United Nations in order to achieve the formula for sustainable peace in Yemen.

The letter included protest comments about the Conference, the first is disregarding the representation of the southern women politically, in particular the Southern Women demanding the independence of the South.

The letter also comments that such disregarding considered a failure to meet the goals of establishing a peace that the United Nations seeks to achieve.

"The United Nations has violated one of the most important texts of the outcome of the national dialogue , which is the equal representation of the South and the North, which has always been emphasized by the speeches of the United Nations and its envoys," the letter said.
