Taiz – NewsYemen.net

The military police, under the control of the Islah Party, arrested 20 demonstrators on Saturday at the entrance of al-Hanjar checkpoint southwest of Taiz city.

The military police claimed that they had arrested "20 armed men in plain clothes at al-Hanjar checkpoint, who tried to enter the city without presenting their identity," justifying shooting fire on peaceful demonstrators as saying they, demonstrators, fired for preventing them to enter the city.

It is worth to mention that the military police backed by the militias of the Popular Crowd arrested hundreds of demonstrators coming on board 150 cars from the countryside of al-Hujareyah at al-Hanjar checkpoint, and opened fire on them, and kidnapped 33 demonstrators, including leaders of the Nasserite party.

The militias of the Popular Crowd have intentionally halted the demonstrators to access to Taiz city,  condemning the crimes against civilians and dismissing officials or officers involved in killing innocent civilians.

The demonstrators also called on repairing imbalances in the security and military institutions.
