150,000beneficiaries of UAE aid in Hadramout, Shabwa early 2019

The UAE Red Crescent Authority delivered on Friday an aid convoy carrying more than 221 tons of essential foodstuffs for 13,700 poor and needy families in Daw'an district and a number of remote areas in Hadramout province, eastern Yemen.

Since the beginning of 2019, the Red Crescent has distributed 12.407 food baskets in Hadramout at a rate of 1001 tons and 244.9 kg targeted 62,035 needy and affected families in the province.

On Thursday, the UAE Crescent distributed 500 food baskets targeting 2,950 poor and needy families in al-Hajar area in Markha district in Shabwa province.

It is noteworthy that the number of food baskets distributed by the Crescent in Shabwa since the beginning of 2019 amounted to 14,762 baskets of food at the rate of 1,180 tons and 96 kg targeted 90,264 members of the needy and affected families in the province.

The UAE Red Crescent on Friday opened the second phase of the water project in Lawder district in Abyan province.

The second phase, supervised by the UAE Red Crescent, included the construction of 250 cubic meters of storage tanks, preceded by the drilling of four water wells in the first phase.
