Taiz University Staff members call for financial settlement, comprehensive strike

Teaching Staff members at Taiz University, who have not been settled their financial situations, demanded on Sunday in a protest the University Chairmanship to pay their monthly salaries starting in June 2019 till they would receive their financial settlements.

 

The Teaching staff announced to launch a comprehensive strike at the University in coordination with their colleagues at the University Syndicate in Taiz province so as to get their financial salaries, which has been stalled for four years.

 

The protest called on the leadership of the university to abandon the state of administrative slowness towards the issue of the university members and assume its responsibilities and follow up the Ministry of Finance in Aden.

 

The protest demanded the leadership of the University to extract a directive from the prime minister in Aden similar to the directives of the degrees of staff replacement plans and the operational budget of the university so as to include an urgent provision for the University Staff employees.

 

The protest also demanded to ensure the accumulated rights that they have been deprived of during the past four years.
