British Prime Minister Theresa May has spoken to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman over Yemen so as to find a political solution to the parties to the conflict.

The remarks came at a time when British diplomacy resumed its moves towards Yemen with what London considered a success in attracting support for the continuity of UN envoy Martin Griffiths in his duties amid the internationally recognized government of Yemen's  criticisms in this regard.

The prime minister, who met with Saudi Crown Prince on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Japan, expressed her concern over issues including Yemen, the Observer newspaper reported Sunday.

The article quoted a senior official in the British government as saying: "The Prime Minister stressed in her meeting with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia the need to continue working to find a political solution to end the conflict in Yemen.

The British moves were accused of saving the Houthis and imposed them as a number and a key player in the Yemeni equation starting from stopping al-Hodeida battle and halting the liberation of al-Hodeida's sea main ports.

The meetings and recent British efforts coincided with the escalation of the Houthi rebels attacks via Houthi drones on Saudi airports.

In Riyadh, Deputy Foreign Minister, the Ambassador Mohammed al-Hadhrami met on Sunday the acting British Ambassador to Yemen  Fiona Walker.

The meeting, according to Saba, discussed the efforts to bring peace. "The Yemeni official confirmed  the Yemeni government "will re-engage positively" with the efforts of UN envoy Martin Griffiths "in implementation of the directives of President Abd Rabo Mansour Hadi."

The acting minister praised the UK's support for the Legitimate government and peace efforts in Yemen.

"He stressed the support and keenness of the government to make the success of peace efforts based on the three references so as to lead to a real and sustainable peace to end the coup and restore the State of Yemen".

UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Yemen, Martin Griffiths would visit Russia then the United Arab Emirates and Oman aimed to continue his efforts to push forward the peace process in Yemen, a UN spokesman said.
