Police arrest person accused of planting landmines in Mocha rural areas

Local sources said that Mocha Security Forces obtained information led to arrest a person in connection with planting landmines, causing casualties among civilians.

 

Mocha security services captured a person involved in planting landmines, the last one was a landmine that exploded at a bus while on its way in a sandy road in the King road in Mocha rural area.

 

The accused was known as Saddam Shuja'a, he admitted planting the landmines, the last of which resulted the injury of a bus driver, the sources said.

 

The accident was likely to be a result of personal differences, the sources added.  

 

The sources explained that the accused was planting mines and explosive devices in areas previously declared free from these deadly bodies.

 

It was not known how he obtained the mines and whether he was connected to the Houthi militias.

 

NewsYemen tried to contact Mocha Security Department to get further details, but the department refused to comments. 

 

Mines and explosive devices planted by the Houthi militias in densely populated areas of the West Coast are a dilemma for civilians who have abandoned their homes and have not been able to return.
