Community Committee calls on government to investigate crimes in Taiz, stop security imbalance

Taiz Community Committee called on the Legitimate government represented by the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior to stopping the situation of security imbalance in Taiz city so as to take the necessary decisions to impose the prestige of the State, enforce the law and combat all forms of violence.

The Committee said in a statement that the unprecedented security imbalance in Taiz province and its result outcomes, resulted the outbreak of serious crimes need a specialized professional investigation committee to capture the accused in cases of violations of laws, killing of civilians, extrajudicial executions, and throwing of bodies on public roads, mass eviction of the inhabitants from their homes, looting of their property and storming houses with the force of arms and burning them to erase the traces of crime.

The Community Committee stressed that public , Police, security and Judicial authorities in Taiz are unable to investigate serious crimes in Taiz city on a daily basis and the silence of the government and the ministries concerned in what are happening in Taiz have made some believe that there is no administrative decision or "political"  to end violence and crime that taken place in Taiz.

The Committee said that the security authorities did not arrest the accused of killing of the girl Noran Mujeeb for more than 155 days, and did not reach the accused of killing Najeeb Hanash for more than 95 days. The Authorities in Taiz or Police did not arrested the accused of many of heinous crimes that terrified the society.

Taiz Community Committee called for an urgent intervention by the Prime Minister, the Minister of the Interior and the Attorney General of the Republic to end crimes in the province.

The Committee called for the formation of a committee under the supervision of the Interior Minister to investigate the crimes that have taken place in Taiz.
