Force of Security Belt, Rapid Intervention end armed tribal clashes in Abyan

A force of the Security Belt and Rapid Intervention in Abyan province, south of Yemen, ended armed clashes between al-Raha tribe and al-Lakeda tribe in Batais area in Khanfar district.

Security sources told NewsYemen that direct instructions were issued by the commander of the Security Belt and Rapid Intervention in Abyan province Abdullatif al-Sayyed to send a symbolic force in Ja'ar sector at the Security Belt Command, October 7, in Batais to end armed clashes between the two tribes.

 The sources added that the security forces arrested elements involved in the armed clashes. They were taken to October Camp 7 and imprisoned them, taking preliminary measures, investigating those who involved in the clashes. Legal procedures will be taken by the competent authorities as well.

Residents in Batais and al- Lakeda expressed their satisfaction with the positive rapid intervention that is carried out by the Security Belt Forces and Rapid Intervention.

It is worth mentioning that the armed clashes took place in Batais area and aL-Lakeda between the cousins of al-Raha tribe at 8:00 pm Tuesday, and that there were no dead or wounded in the clashes reported.
