The United Arab Emirates Red Crescent has delivered a new batch of medicines to Hays General Hospital as part of the UAE's emergency response program to combat epidemics and diseases spreading on the west coast of Yemen.

This is the second of its kind for the health sector in the Directorate of Hays and the fourth at the level of the directorates of the coast in two weeks.

The UAE Red Crescent said that it had received a new distress call from the health bureau of Hays Directorate in Hodeidah governorate during the last few hours about running out of medicines in Hais General Hospital and the increasing cases of cholera and watery diarrhea, and quickly responded and delivered the required quantities and items.

He confirmed that the UAE places the health sector on top of its priorities and will spare no effort to provide medical support and therapeutic services within its humanitarian and relief role for the Yemeni people in areas and cities liberated from the grip of Iranian-backed Houthi militias.

The Director of the Health Bureau in the Directorate, Dr. Mohammed Taleb Hamna, said that the continuous support from the UAE has enabled Hays General Hospital to remain open to receive and treat the increasing medical conditions, whether cases of cholera, watery diarrhea or other conditions.
