The Yemeni Bar Association announced on Sunday the boycott of specialized criminal courts in areas controlled by the Houthis, in a step up to reject the continued violation of law and violations against its members.

The union said in an official statement that it had agreed to "completely stop attending the inauguration sessions before the specialized criminal courts in Sana'a and Hodeidah."

The Yemeni Bar Council, in its joint meeting with the Bar Association branch in Sana'a, announced the status of a permanent meeting to stand in front of the violations and attacks that have affected the lawyers, which have increased in frequency recently.

In a previous press statement, he called on organizations, jurists, parties and political components to show solidarity against the practices of the judicial authorities in the areas controlled by the Houthis.
