The Director of the Tourism Office in Makha, Jalal Mansour, warned of the collapse of all the archaeological buildings in the Directorate.

Mansour said in an exclusive statement to Newyemen that archaeological buildings dating back hundreds of years have collapsed due to the lack of financial support to preserve them.

He added that the Italian consulate, which dates back 300 years ago, is about to fall, and it urgently needs a restoration before the disaster.

Mansour revealed that thieves stole the collapsed timber, which contains exquisite drawings and inscriptions.

He explained that the absence of government funding and the cessation of the activities of international organizations working in the field of preserving monuments and archaeological buildings have stopped the restoration operations, which threatens to destroy the archaeological buildings.

He confirmed that government weakness reflected itself on many sectors and government offices, which stopped many of the work that was supposed to be completed.
