The new school year has begun, and most government schools and educational facilities remain under the control of the army and Brotherhood militia in the central city of Taiz.

According to educational sources  (Newsyemen), the National Army forces and the Muslim Brotherhood militias refuse till today to leave some schools in the city of Taiz, and explain their rejection that they are at war.

The sources pointed out that the Muslim Brotherhood militias refuse to leave the school of Hael compound for girls in the old city, despite their announcement to hand over the school to the Education Office after the exit of the Abu Abbas Brigades from the school.

The Brotherhood militias turned some government schools into special detention camps run by the organization, and they refuse to close prisons, including two schools in the Rawdhah and al-Nahda neighborhood of Asaifra, north of Taiz.

The army also transferred some educational facilities to the headquarters of the National Institute for the headquarters of the Brigade 22 Mika, the Technical Institute for the headquarters of the 17th Infantry Brigade, and Khalid bin Al Waleed School for the headquarters of the Fifth Brigade Presidential Guard.

According to the sources, the Brotherhood's militia is deliberately disrupting the educational process in schools and government institutes to force students to attend the organization's 130 private schools and their own universities, such as Al-Ata and Al-Jund.

Poor students resort to public schools run by some educators, and some of the destroyed schools and houses take classes, particularly east and west of the city of Taiz.
