The sixth  meeting of the Joint Redeployment Coordination Committee will take place in Hodeidah on Sunday, September 8, 2019, according to assurances from two sources, political and military, for New Yemen.

A Yemeni political source in the west coast south of Hodeidah told Newsyemen shortly before midnight to postpone the upcoming meeting of the Joint Coordinating Committee in the presence of the delegations of the legitimate government and the Houthi militias, the Iranian arm in Yemen.  It is set to be carried out at United Nations vessels in international waters.

The sixth meeting, the second and last under the chairmanship of Danish Michael Lollisgaard, was expected to take place before leaving his position to an Indian nationality on Saturday, a committee official said earlier on Saturday and the meeting was ambiguous before the new date could be confirmed.

Waddah al-Debeish, spokesman for the New West Coast liberation operations, told Newsyemen early on Sunday that the meeting was scheduled for Sunday at 11 am aboard the UN ship sailing from khatef area for a tripartite meeting.

An official source in the committee said that the meeting will discuss several points, including: the operation of a joint operations center, activation of the calm mechanism and the agreement on the deployment of observation posts in some of the lines of contact lines to strengthen the ceasefire and reduce escalation.

The source added that this would be done in accordance with the mechanism approved at the last joint meeting.
