The sixth meeting of the Redeployment Coordinating Committee to support the Hodeida agreement at sea on a UN ship is scheduled to resume and conclude today.

The sixth meeting will be held in the absence of Danish General Michael Lollisgaard.

No statement or press briefing was issued on the first day of the meeting.

The meeting will be held in the international waters on board the ship Interactic Dream headed by Acting Chairman of the International Redeployment Committee Brigadier General Hani Nakhla.

The retired Indian team, Abahjat Goha, is scheduled to replace the head of the United Nations Observer Mission in Hodeidah, succeeding Denmark's Michael Lollisgaard.

A committee source said on Sunday that members of the Redeployment Coordinating Committee (RCC) to implement the Hodeidah agreement are holding their sixth joint meeting on September 8 and 9, 2019, on a ship in open waters off Hodeidah.

An official source in the committee said that the meeting will discuss several points, including: the operation of a joint operations center, activation of the calm mechanism and the agreement on the deployment of observation posts in some of the lines of contact lines to strengthen the ceasefire and reduce escalation.

The source added that this would be done in accordance with the mechanism approved at the last joint meeting.
