Al-Karimi Bank stopped paying any salaries to entities and institutions in the province of Taiz unless it receives the allocated liquidity from the Central Bank attached with the exchange notice. Informed sources told Newsyemen

The sources added that Karimi Bank is dealing with great caution with the Central Bank for fear of any developments that may hinder the work of the Bank or change in procedures, despite the announcement of the Central Bank that its work is independent and away from conflict.

The sources said that Karimi Bank received notices last week a number of bodies, but refused to pay salaries to employees of these bodies until it receives liquidity from the bank branch in Taiz.

Karimi says he does not have enough liquidity, while sources confirmed that for nearly a month, Karimi has been looking for liquidity and benefits of previous notices issued to employees and not covered by the Central Bank branch of Taiz.

The sources revealed that the central bank in Taiz was unable to bring liquidity from the headquarters in Aden, because of security concerns.
