Houthi militia demands "ransom" to release citizens kidnapped by "charge" to celebrate the September 26 revolution

The Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, continues to kidnap a number of citizens in Sana'a for celebrating the 57th anniversary of the 26 September Revolution.

Houthi elements kidnapped four citizens on a Hail street in the center of the capital, for listening to patriotic songs glorifying the Yemeni revolution. According to eyewitnesses

 According to the sources, the Houthi militia continued to detain the four abductees, who are from al-Rouna Sharab area in Taiz province, for the third day in a row.

It was added that the Houthi militia demanded the kidnapped to pay one hundred thousand riyals for each person, in return for their release.

 On Saturday evening, the militia raised the amount to 150,000 riyals per person, and threatened in the section of May 22 to transfer them to the prosecution, under the pretext of "support of aggression" if the said amount is not delivered.

Maher al-Wasabi, who owns a shop on Tahrir Street in Sanaa, was kidnapped on the back of his celebration of the September 26 revolution.

 The sources said that Houthi gunmen broke into his shop and kidnapped him, before being released after paying a large sum of money.
