Legitimacy breaks up the coalition and rejects the "transitional" .. The UAE responds: we will stay in Yemen and we will face terrorism

Newly appointed Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hadhrami began his mission to re-accuse the UAE of the recent events in Aden, Abyan and Shabwa during a speech to the UN General Assembly.

Al Hadrami, who attended the UN meetings on behalf of Hadi, said that the "Southern Transitional Council, supported financially, militarily and logistically by the United Arab Emirates, rebelled against the state and armed robbery on the government headquarters in the interim capital Aden, haunted by delusions of cleavage, illusion of power and the imposition of options by force of arms.  Thereby constitutional legitimacy and Yemeni identity, "

He claimed that "the army has been subjected to direct military strikes and out of international law from the UAE aviation and in the form of a severe blow in the body of the country and a clear deviation from the noble objectives of the coalition to support legitimacy in Yemen."

The UAE's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Anwar Gargash, said in previous statements, that his country's participation in the storm of firmness and within the Arab Alliance came in response to the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

Gargash said that "our continuation in Yemen within the coalition led by Saudi Arabia is linked to this call," adding: "As a result of our strategic relationship with s Saudi Arabia, they have the authority to decide whether to continue our role in supporting stability in Yemen within the Arab coalition or not."


Amira Al Hefiti, Deputy Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations, expressed her country's regret and rejection of the allegations made by the representative of Yemen in his address to the United Nations.

The UAE has stressed that it has the right to defend itself and respond to threats to Arab coalition forces in Yemen.

 The Deputy Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations: "The terrorist organizations have begun to increase the frequency of attacks against the coalition leadership and civilians."


"Terrorist militias have been targeted with specific air strikes in accordance with the rules of engagement based on the Geneva Convention and international humanitarian law as a result of the direct threat to the security of coalition forces."

 "The UAE will continue to take appropriate  measures to protect the Arab coalition forces from threats against them and to ensure that terrorist elements do not return, including ensuring that ISIS does not return to engage in terrorist activities in Yemen."
