The death of the former governor of Abyan, the patriot Abdullah al-Junaidi

Abdullah Mohammed Taleb Al-Junaidi died in his hometown of Amsalab in Shabwa governorate in southern Yemen on Saturday, 28 September 2019, after a journey of suffering with the disease.

The late Abdullah Mohammed Taleb Al-Junaidi is a prominent national, political and military figures, and one of the activists of the revolution of the fourteenth of October 1963 against British colonialism.

He was one of the first vanguards to take up arms against the British colonial presence for its goals until national independence on 30 November 1967.

Junaidi held a number of leadership, military and civilian positions in the seventies of the last century, which he held, the most important pillars of the Thirtieth Brigade stationed in Thamud in the province of Hadramout and the warden of Socotra island.

 In 1977, he was appointed Governor of Abyan Governorate during the reign of the late President Salman. He remained in office until 26 June 1978.
