Floods on Thursday led to the collapse of a vital bridge linking Mocha to Taiz.

Passengers told Newsyemen that rains swept away parts of the foundations of the bridge in the lower Sharera Valley of the Shamayatain district, and the remaining parts of it were cracked, making vehicle crossings impossible.

Dozens of passengers and transport vehicles were stranded for long hours along the asphalt road, unable to cross a bypass road, from which rain was flowing.

Travelers appealed to the competent authorities to intervene and rebuild the bridge, which is a vital road and the only artery connecting the city of Taiz to the Directorate of Mocha.
