Bandar al-Mahdi, spokesman for the fifth military zone, said that the army repulsed an attack by the Houthi militia on positions in the northern district of Abs.
Mahdi said that the army forces broke a creeping Houthi militia towards the Tina area, while dozens of Houthi elements were killed and wounded during the clashes that followed the attack.
Arab coalition fighter jets launched on Wednesday a dozen air strikes on Houthi positions and mechanisms north of Abs.
The Al-Tina area of Hajjah governorate witnessed a large wave of displacement for the residents as a result of the intensive Houthi shelling that targeted villages and residential areas.
A local source said dozens of families had forcibly left their homes and took none of their property. It pointed out that children and the elderly had suffered great hardship in long-distance displacement in mine-affected areas after the Houthi militia cut off the main roads.
