The government is due to return to Aden within a week of the final joint signing of the Riyadh agreement with the Southern Transitional Council, which is likely to be before the end of next week.

According to sources, the government will be reconstituted from 24 ministers, from the northern and southern provinces.

Implementation of the agreement is supervised by a joint committee of the Saudi-led Arab coalition.

A government source told AFP that "the agreement will be signed no later than Tuesday in the presence of President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, and Aidroos Al-Zubaidi, president of the Southern Transitional Council."

According to the official, the agreement "requires the restructuring of the government and the involvement of the Transitional Council in a number of ministries, and the return of the government to Aden within seven days after the signing of the agreement."
