Young people volunteer to fill excavations on the international road in Abyan

On Monday, a group of youth volunteers launched the second phase of the backfill of pits initiative in the main line at Lauder district in Abyan governorate, southern Yemen.

The volunteers carried out backfilling operations for 9 pits on the main road in the triangle of Al Ain city and 28 pits in Al Khedira area in Mudia using cement and concrete in addition to soil and oil to ensure their durability.

In its first phase, the Volunteer Initiative targeted the Al-Arqoub International Road, where 37 holes were filled and excavations along the road that caused accidents to cars and vehicles were also filled.

The initiative has been well received by travelers after frequent incidents in the international line in Al-Arqoub recently due to excavations.

Participants in the initiative said that despite the modest budgets and materials, but the filling of excavations contribute to reducing the level of traffic accidents on this road.

They added that the initiative will continue and will expand its work and regions according to the possibilities available.
