Yemeni property sales in Turkey are five times higher

The number of homes bought by investors, politicians and Yemeni citizens in Turkey rose by 536 percent in the first nine months of 2019, compared with the same period in 2015.

The number of houses bought by Yemenis in Turkey reached 1,082 between January and September 2019, compared to only 170 in the corresponding period in 2015, according to information from government data issued by the Turkish Statistical Institute.

Overall, the number of houses bought by foreigners in Turkey reached 32,268 in the first nine months of 2019, an increase of 98 percent compared to the same period in 2015.

In this period, the increase in sales of houses to Yemenis, 5.5 times the increase in sales to other foreigners.

Yemenis bought 231 homes in Turkey in 2015, 192 in 2016, 390 in 2017, 851 in 2018 and 1082 in the first nine months of 2019, according to official data from the Turkish Statistical Organization.

Yemenis ranked 20th among the most foreign home buyers in Turkey in 2015, 15th in 2017, 11th in 2018, 9th in 2019, and in 2016 they were outside the list of 20.

The head of the American real estate company "Coldwell Banker" in Turkey, Gokhan Tash that "the most striking issue in the sale of homes to foreigners, is the increase in the number of properties purchased by Yemenis in Turkey .. The Anatolia news agency quoted Tash as saying that the number of houses bought by Yemenis in Turkey about 4-5 years ago, was between 100 to 200 houses.

 "Due to recent developments and instability in the region, the number of Yemenis who bought houses in Turkey in the last two and a half years has exceeded 2,200.

He explained that in addition to the purchase of homes, "Yemenis interest in Turkey has emerged clearly in the economic field as well .. Where the number of companies that Yemenis in Turkey are growing every day."

According to official data, 2017 saw the establishment of 44 companies with Yemeni capital, 79 companies in 2018, and in the first seven months of 2019 reached 41 companies, to establish Yemenis 164 companies in Turkey in the last two and a half years.
