The Security Council welcomes the Riyadh agreement: a step for a comprehensive solution in Yemen

The UN Security Council welcomed the Riyadh agreement, which was concluded between the Yemeni government and the Southern Transitional Council in the Saudi capital.
The Security Council described the agreement as an important and positive step to reach a political and comprehensive solution to the crisis in Yemen, affirming its commitment to the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Yemen, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Council members also welcomed the mediation efforts of Saudi Arabia in reaching this agreement, stressed the Council's support for the role of the UN envoy to resume dialogue between Yemenis, and reiterated his call on the Yemeni parties to implement the Stockholm Agreement.
