Demonstrators called on the authority to fight corruption, protect citizens and their property, normalize the situation and complete the liberation of the province from the Houthi militia.

They also demanded the cancellation and revision of appointments at all local authority offices and facilities following the quota agreement from November 2016 until now, and replacing them with competencies.
They also demanded that real corruption cases be referred to the COCA, courts and prosecutors.
The city of Taiz has witnessed, for nearly a month, weekly demonstrations condemning corruption, partisan quotas and the payment of salaries of employees, as in the rest of the provinces.

The demonstrators condemned the deterioration of service institutions, electricity, water, hygiene, education, health and roads.  They called on the authority to carry out its duties and provide services to the citizens through the government and not through private companies, commercial electricity, water utilities, private schools and private hospitals, in a reference to the Islah Party, which turned the city into a private feudalism.
