Private Internet Wi-Fi networks in the Houthi militia-controlled areas have declared a comprehensive strike for their services, in protest at the decisions of the telecommunications organization, which is controlled by the militia in Sanaa.

The Secretary-General of the National Syndicate of Networks, Engineer Ali Abdullah Al-Badawi, confirmed the start of the strike and the extinguishing of all networks from Monday to the fulfillment of all their demands.

The union called for reducing internet prices on citizens, stopping the abuse and blackmail of owners of wireless networks, and compensation for the damages and losses caused to its owners due to false accusations, and the confiscation of networking devices.

It is worth noting that the Houthi militia recently took measures, including restrictions on citizens in the use of the Internet, including raising prices by 130 percent, and undertaking campaigns to confiscate Wi-Fi devices from different neighborhoods and areas in the capital, Sanaa, and a number of governorates.
