The International Organization for Migration (IOM) announced on Monday that the number of internally displaced people in Yemen has risen to three million six hundred and fifty thousand as a result of the nearly five-year-old war.

"More than 3.65 million Yemeni people are currently displaced across Yemen," the organization said in a statement, adding that "IDPs are facing difficulties in obtaining the life-saving assistance they mainly need, especially those who live in small informal gatherings."

"According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, there are 14.4 million people - the equivalent of three quarters of the Yemeni population - in need of protection and urgent humanitarian assistance," the international organization said.

The International Organization for Migration indicated that it is helping the poor and the displaced people all over Yemen to obtain basic health care, noting that in late November, it supported nearly 300 patients to perform major surgeries they needed.
