A military source in Marib Governorate revealed that hundreds of officers in the National Army received threats from an army officer of the General Ali Mohsen Al-Ahmar's office to deny them promotions after they objected to going to fight in the southern provinces.

The source said that Brigadier Tawfiq Muhammad Abdullah Al-Qiz directed his orders to learners as part of training courses for an estimated 860 officers to go to the southern governorates after the end of the qualifying courses, threatening to deprive them of graduation certificates, ranks and promotions in the event that they refused to submit to his orders.

The source pointed out that most of the participants in the training courses for officers from the Ma'rib and Al-Jawf Governorate were deliberately gathered to be sent later towards Shuqrah and Aden to create a conflict between these two governorates and the people of the South.

It stressed that it is not the right of any official in the Ministry of Defense or in the Vice President’s office to issue instructions to the officers present in the session and give them combat orders. It is correct that the command of the military units to which these officers belong is addressed and they are the ones who decide this because the gradual orders are with this Way.
