On Thursday, the Customs Authority in Al-Jawf Governorate announced that it foiled an attempt to smuggle a shipment of fuel for drones that was on its way to the areas controlled by the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm, in Yemen.

It said that the shipment, which was packed in 256 barrels, and recorded its data in the customs declaration, is said to be "Paint Thinner", but "during the actual inspection it was found that it was jet fuel."

It stated that a security force and customs officials were able to arrest two trucks carrying 256 barrels filled with fuel used to supply drones and types of missiles, after suspending the shipment that was registered in the acknowledgment that it was (Paint Thinner).

"The customs teams have re-examined the cargo that was coming through smuggling lines extending into the desert, heading to the Houthi militia-controlled areas supported by Iran, and referring the people responsible for transporting the cargo to investigation," it added.
