Thousands of citizens mourned the death of Yemeni consultant Professor Amin Ali al-Kamali on Friday afternoon, to his final resting place in the cemetery of al-Sana, west of the Yemeni capital Sanaa.

Professor Amin Ali Naji Al-Kamali, a consultant neurosurgeon, died last Wednesday in a hospital in Cairo, a month after suffering a sudden stroke.

According to his biography, Professor Amin Al-Kamali was born in 1959 in the Directorate of The Shari'a al-Salam, and was one of the first in the Republic in high school, and received bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees with distinction from Ain Shams University in Egypt.

Professor Amin Al-Kamali is the first Yemeni doctor to receive a doctor's degree in neurosurgery and spine surgery, and has performed hundreds of complex surgeries in Yemen and Egypt in three decades.

Professor Amin Ali al-Kamali returned to Yemen and worked as a professor at Sana'a University, and president and founder of neurosurgery departments at government hospitals in the capital Sana'a (Revolution, Kuwait, Republican, and police).

He also founded and chaired the Yemeni Society of Neurosurgery and Spine Surgeons, and its permanent representative to the World Society of Neurosurgery, chaired the Arab Spine Association and its sixth conference, as well as served as a member of the Administrative Board and scientific officer of the Arab Society of Neurosurgery, He is a member of the Egyptian Society and the American Society.

Professor Amin Al Kamali has published dozens of scientific researches, lectured at many Arab and international conferences, and has been one of the best researches in the American Society in 1997, and has been honored in many countries.
