The Saudi-led coalition announced a two-week comprehensive ceasefire in Yemen to counter the consequences of the Corunavirus outbreak, and affirmed that the opportunity was created for a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire.

The spokesman for the forces of the support of legitimacy in Yemen, Colonel Turki Al-Maliki, announced, Wednesday, a comprehensive cease-fire in Yemen for two weeks to face the consequences of the outbreak of the Coronavirus.

 Al-Maliki stated that the ceasefire begins from Thursday, April 09, at (1200) local time for a period of two weeks, and is subject to extension.

He talked about the goal of creating appropriate conditions for the implementation of the invitation of the Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for Yemen Martin Griffith to hold a meeting between the legitimate government and the Houthis, and a military team from the coalition under the supervision of the UN envoy to discuss his proposals on the steps and mechanisms to implement a permanent ceasefire in Yemen, and steps to build human confidence  And economic, and the resumption of the political process between the Yemeni parties to reach consultations between the Yemeni brothers to reach a comprehensive political solution in Yemen.

He also added that the leadership of the Alliance Joint Forces, the Alliance to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, finds the opportunity to join all efforts to reach a comprehensive and lasting cease-fire in Yemen, agree on serious and concrete steps and will greatly support all these essential steps with the United Nations in order to find a solution a comprehensive and fair political agreed by the Yemenis.
