The Prime Minister, Dr. Moeen Abdulmalik, called for positive engagement with the armistice and the need to unify the health policy in Yemen to face the danger of an outbreak of the Coronavirus, after recording the first confirmed case of a person infected in Shihr in Hadhramaut.
He stressed the need for society to be aware and not to give in to panic and rumors. "Underestimating precaution and dismay are two sides of the same coin," he said.
In a speech on Saturday, the Prime Minister spoke about the discovery of the first case of a person infected with the Coronavirus, a six-year-old Yemeni citizen working in the port of Shihr. He said that the infected person has been transferred to the Quarantine Center in Mukalla and that all health measures have been taken by tracking the people with whom he has contacted during the last period and are currently undergoing the necessary tests.
He stressed that the government will provide all the necessary resources in light of the available capabilities, including providing three thousand immediate inspections to the governorate to expand the examination department, so that the strict examination focuses on the suspected cases.
The Prime Minister said: These are accurate and dangerous moments in the history of the world, and their effects will be multiplied on our country, which is exhausted by the coup and war that drove the economy, services and citizens' lives to unprecedented levels of deterioration and deterioration. So since my first conversation with you about the Coronavirus, I called for unity of effort and the Yemeni government welcomed directly the initiative of the United Nations Secretary-General a truce to unite efforts to combat this dangerous pandemic.
Adding: Yemen needs real support to support the efforts to combat the pandemic and prepare for it, and we highly value the support of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in their initiative to support the humanitarian efforts in general with five hundred million dollars and in dealing with efforts to combat the Coronavirus at $ 25 million, but the health sector challenges and its weak capabilities need an unlimited effort and support to reach acceptable levels is what we are working on.
The Prime Minister said: After discovering the first case, we hope that the truce will be dealt with positively and with the need to unify the health policy to confront this virus, and at the same time we stress the need for society to be conscious and not to give in to panic and rumors that in the end will have a negative impact on our people. Underestimating precaution and dismay are two sides of the same coin, the result of which is to move away from rational behavior, which is summed up in the procedures for social divergence and health measures as published and circulated through the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization and local and international media channels.
Adding: We follow the developments of the case of the infected citizen in the city of Al-Shihr, and we affirm that the care of all citizens is our responsibility as a government, and we stress the necessity that any citizen affected with care and attention, and we call upon everyone who suspects the symptoms of this disease to communicate with the relevant government agencies, and we confirm that he will receive all care Required.
He concluded by saying: This danger can only be overcome by a high sense of responsibility and in full cooperation with the instructions and procedures of the state and not to panic, improvisation, disregard or act individually, and the most important thing at this moment is full cooperation with the government, solidarity, solidarity and popular sympathy.
