Taiz, Newsyemen, private:

Sources in the Taiz Governorate Court said that hundreds of armed men from the Taiz army attacked, on Tuesday, the temporary governorate building and surrounded the residence of Taiz Governor Nabil Shamsan.

Eyewitnesses told Newsyemen that hundreds of armed men carrying their personal weapons reinforced with a number of guns came to the front of the Taiz Governorate building at eleven o'clock in the afternoon.

According to sources in the Taiz Governorate Bureau, more than 15 military crews, including three machine guns, machine guns 14 and 23 MT, belonging to the Taiz army, led by Bakr Sadiq Sarhan and Majed Al-Araj, gathered in front of the governorate building and closed the gate of the building.

According to the sources, the armed groups invoked a demand by the governor of Taiz, Nabil Shamsan, to provide daily expenses for the fronts and to allocate money from the province's revenues.

Bakr Sadiq Sarhan is the son of the Commander of the 22nd Brigade, Taiz, and is the de facto commander and ruler of the 22nd Brigade.

Private sources confirmed that among the participants in the storming of the governor's residence, Nabil Shamsan, were soldiers wanted by security forces at the judicial and security authorities.

This latest attack comes one day after the storming of the governorate and the governor’s residence two days ago by groups led by Abdulhakim al-Shujaa, commander of the 21st Battalion, 22nd Brigade, who fired shots into the governorate building.
