On Friday, local sources revealed that the mediation and calm committee supervised by the Saudi forces had failed between representatives of the government forces and the Transitional Council in Abyan Governorate.
The sources said that the meeting was aimed at dissolving the state of congestion and removing the causes of tension between the two parties, which share control over the regions of Abyan.
The sources pointed out that the representatives of the government forces were waiting for the mediation committee and the Saudi committee to arrive in Shuqra to take their representatives to Aden, where the meeting would take place.
It added that the situation is getting more complicated on the ground through the scrambling of reinforcements of the two parties, legitimacy and transitional, amid a stream of accusations through various methods of leaks.
The chances of calm in Abyan governorate have declined due to the legitimate government, which is controlled by the Muslim Brotherhood, continued to mobilize its forces, forcing the forces of the Southern Transitional Council to mobilize its forces in preparation for any upcoming confrontation.
