This afternoon, the Yemeni government authorities reopened the Al-Wadiaa port, in the Hadramaut Governorate, with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to receive the stranded Yemenis in the Kingdom.

About 5 tourist buses for mass transit transport carrying the Umrah performers and those trapped inside the Sharurah area on the Saudi side, who might by evening reach about 300 people stuck out of 500 individuals, according to the delegate of "Newsyemen".

The health authorities at the border port of Al-Wadiaa say that they make sure that they are free of the Corona virus after they spend a quarantine period in Saudi Arabia.

Governmental sources said that housing for the stranded in the depository hotels was arranged under the supervision of the General Secretariat of the Prime Minister to spend a 14-day quarantine period, and then they would be released to return to their provinces and homes and whoever proves symptoms of the disease is transferred to the isolation centers each in his province.

The reopening of the only port comes after the directives of the Deputy Prime Minister and Acting Minister of Transport (Salem Al-Khonbashi) to the Director General of the Deposit Port (Mutlaq Al-Saiari), that the port be opened as of Thursday, May 7 (2020) and receive the stranded according to the statement submitted by the Consulate General in the Kingdom. However, today, Saturday afternoon, the first delegates from the stranded people were received.

The Yemeni stranded in Saudi Arabia have repeatedly called for their return to their country after their conditions worsened.

It is noteworthy that the Yemeni authorities decided about a month ago to close the port in front of those coming from Saudi Arabia, as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.

The number of Umrah performers stranded inside Saudi lands amounts to 150 pilgrims, and those who were closed due to the announcement of the first case of epidemic in the country.
